I was utterly appalled by their undisguised appeal to the basest of human instincts – fascism, religious bigotry, and militarism – and was thoroughly disgusted by the roaring approval of the audience. It was just to appease this group of voters, who will never vote for him anyway, that Barack Obama ditched his once-principled positions, alienating his core constituency that would have given him his margin of victory in a dead-even race. I think Obama may have blown it.
